POSITION: Media Sales Development Executive, London

OBJECTIVE:
To develop, prospect and expand sales and opportunities in the editorial and publishing markets in the UK and London office territories. To work under the direction of the Senior Sales Director in London and the Global Archive and Stocksales Director based in Paris.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Main Responsibilities
• To build and develop relationships with editorial and publishing clients to better understand the business opportunities with them and grow sales.
• To promote the work of Magnum Photographers, the Magnum Archive and the services that Magnum offers.

Day to day responsibilities include
• To fulfill requests and grow opportunities with existing editorial and publishing clients – from presenting & pitching Magnum’s products & services at meetings, through fee negotiations, provision of images, stories, proposals, & ideas through to final invoicing.
• To prospect for and develop relations & opportunities with new editorial and publishing clients
• To assist photographers administrative tasks relating to editorial/ publishing assignments
• To assist colleagues & photographers with editing & creating presentations for sales
• To work as 1 of a 3-member team in London targeting & growing the editorial & publishing markets

Other
• Participate in cross department sales meetings on strategies for growing sales & new opportunities
• Support colleagues in other departments with relevant information about current editorial activities

Experience, Skills and Qualifications
• Undergraduate and/or graduate education
• Experience within picture licensing industry/ minimum of 2 years essential
• Proven experience in a sales environment
• Negotiation skills
• Strong organizational skills, ability to multi task vital
• Proactive nature, outwardly going
• Knowledge of current affairs
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to deal with artists
• Great communicator
• Strong team player, ability to share information with colleagues quickly & concisely
• High computer literacy: Microsoft Office, ftp software, Indesign, Photoshop etc. – an asset
• English as first language essential, French desirable

Salary: Salary up to £24K depending on experience.

Start Date: As soon as possible in early July 2009.
